Double Agent

There is a great Rush song (well, they're ALL great.. but..) Anyway, there is a song by Rush on the Counterparts album called "Double Agent" and it starts out like this..

Where would you rather be?
Anywhere..
anywhere but here
When will the time be right?
Anytime
anytime but now.

I wrote a poem a long time ago called "Anywhere But Here" which is about my anxiety. I just came across it and thought I'd post it on the blog.

Anywhere But Here

Confused,

my head
            spins
my heart
            stops
and no
            matter
where I
            am
I’m never
            where
I want
            to be

  1. I love the poem. Again, I can completely relate to it. I never seem to be in the right place. I'm never where I want to be. When I'm in my bed, I wish I was in a hammock in the sun. When I'm at therapy I wish i was in bed. But mainly. I wish I wasn't caged inside this body. I wish I was out of it. I wish my soul could explode out of me and express all of my feelings. Great poem. It deacribes anxiety- and in my opinion, depression completely. You nailed the feeling. Bulls eye.
